Job Summary:
The orthopedic registered nurse (RN) position is based in a medical surgical orthopedic floor located in Peoria, Illinois. The role involves providing care for a diverse patient population with postoperative orthopedic, trauma, and medical surgical diagnoses. Candidates are required to bring their active Illinois nursing license on the first day of assignment. This position offers a 12-hour night shift schedule with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Schedule: 12-hour nights with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; BLS certification from the American Heart Association; 2 years of clinical experience in post-op surgical care and general medical-surgical nursing; current EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency; must submit the last four (4) digits of SSN and clinician's middle initial with application; at least a 2-year clinical experience is preferred.

• Unit Details: 43 private rooms, patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights, charge nurses available on each shift, and a house supervisor present 24/7.
• Additional Responsibilities: Troubleshooting respiratory equipment (CPAP, heated high flow), reading telemetry strips on house-wide Phillips monitors, and working alongside nurse aides and PCTs at ratios of 1:7-8.
• Float Requirements: Travel RNs are first to float, occasionally to other medical surgical floors.
• Dress Code: Any color of scrubs, professional appearance required, tattoos and piercings must be covered.
• Orientation: Specific to department, duration of two days.
• Trauma Level: Level 1

• Additional Notes: No call or standby requirements. No telemetry techs on unit; RNs are required to read their own telemetry strips using house-wide Phillips monitors.
• Submission Requirements: Last four digits of SSN, clinicians middle initial, active Illinois license or proof of application, understanding of drug-free policy.
