Job Summary:
A registered nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MedSurg) care is needed at a healthcare facility in Freeport, Illinois. The position involves working on a MedSurg unit with a patient population primarily post-operative, requiring at least two years of recent post-operative recovery experience. The role includes a schedule of 12-hour shifts and requires candidates to bring their Illinois nursing license on the first day. Candidates who have previously worked at any facility within the organization must disclose this information during application.

Job Details:

• Location: Freeport, Illinois
• Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730), scheduled on most shifts in need, with every other weekend required and holiday rotation.
• Required Qualifications: Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS Certification, a minimum of 2 years of recent post-operative recovery experience, ability to work 36 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Meditech electronic medical record system.
• Additional Information: First-time travelers are welcome. The unit manages patients with diagnoses including post-operative general, orthopedic, podiatry, and general medical conditions such as diabetes mellitus, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cellulitis, peritoneal dialysis, surgical drains, and wound vacs. The unit uses telemetry monitored by monitor technicians; RNs do not read telemeters. Floating to ICU or Telemetry units may be required to handle overflow, within scope. Department-specific orientation involves two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor and includes HR meeting, orientation, and training.
