Job Summary:
An ICU registered nurse (RN) position is available in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This role involves providing advanced patient care in an intensive care unit setting, managing patients with critical conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and myocardial infarction. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of their assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Council Bluffs, IA
• Shift Hours: 12 hours, nights (1830-0700), with every third weekend
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36.0
• Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); PALS and TNCC are preferred
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; PALS & TNCC preferred
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with every third weekend; no self-scheduling; high-need shift may require travel.
• Required Qualifications: Iowa state RN license, drivers license at submission; ICU experience including in drips, vents, bipaps; preferred 2 years of ICU nursing experience; previous travel experience preferred.
• Additional Information: Unit involves management of complex patients with emergency and critical diagnoses; training provided for floating to lower levels of care including Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical Surgical (MedSurg). Must adhere to hospital policy prohibiting artificial nails.
• Float Requirements: Floating to lower levels of care including PCU and MedSurg; training provided.
• Trauma Level: Level 3
• Charting System: EPIC

• RTO (Request To Off): Required upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after submission.
• Cancellation Policy: The hospital can cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment, or three shifts for shorter assignments.
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs.
• Supervision/Staffing: There is a charge nurse on each shift who may take assignments; nurse aides/patient care techs may be present.
