Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse position located in Freeport, Illinois involves providing specialized patient care in a high-acuity environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of critical diagnoses, running codes, and titrating multiple drips. Candidates are required to bring their Illinois nursing license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Freeport, Illinois
• Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale)
• Required Qualifications: Illinois nursing license, 2+ years ICU experience, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, availability for 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730), minimum of 36 hours per week, and start date of 07/20/2026
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, scheduled on most needed shifts, with every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Responsibilities include managing patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, stroke, DKA, PNA, and others, as well as running codes and titrating titratable medications such as Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, and TNK
• Experience: 2+ years ICU experience preferred; previous travel ICU experience highly preferred; Meditech experience a plus
• Additional Information: Holiday rotation; high priority on candidates with previous employment at any FHN Memorial location (disclosure required); float coverage for MedSurg, Tele, ER; unit equipped with RT equipment and airstrip technology; RN responsible for strips; no monitor tech support; SCRUB COLOR: Any color professional scrubs; hospitalist or intensivist in house 24/7 during the day; care support/CNA when acuity warrants, and a resource for documentation
