Description

Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) in Orange, California. This position involves providing specialized care for obstetric patients in a high-risk, high-volume delivery unit. Candidates are required to bring their valid California license on the first day of employment. The role offers a night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, and qualified candidates will be responsible for supporting various labor and delivery procedures within a large hospital setting.

Job Details:

  • Location: Orange, California
  • Position: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
  • Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours, 07:00-19:30
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36.0 hours
  • Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in a large hospital setting required
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate required; AWHONN Advanced preferred.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid California license in hand, 2 years of experience, current LA fire card (within the last 30 days), certifications listed above.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk deliveries, cervical cerclage, sterile vaginal exams, use of external fetal monitoring, and experience in large hospital environments.
  • Skill Set: Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulate for C-sections, perform sterile vaginal exams, manage magnesium sulfate therapy, recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, and use EFM (External Fetal Monitoring).
  • Additional Information: Must be able to circulate and perform sterile vaginal exams. Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
  • Submission Requirements: Candidates must confirm prior employment at a healthcare facility as a permanent employee, travel contractor, or registry/per-diem, including location and dates worked. References: Two recent references covering the last year (six months for CNAs).
  • Other Conditions: All travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state. The candidate must be willing to work the scheduled night shifts and adhere to the outlined schedule and holiday commitments.
