Description

Job Summary:
An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Portland, Maine. The nurse will work in the ICU corridor specializing in cardiac care, including trauma level 1 patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves providing specialized critical care and supporting patient needs within the unit.

Job Details:

  • Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Float Specialty
  • Location: Portland, Maine
  • Address: 22 Bramhall Street, Portland ME 04102
  • Schedule: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; 0 years of experience required; certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS); experience with Critical Care Resuscitation and Therapy (CRRT), balloon pump, trauma level 1 patient experience, and Epic electronic medical record system familiarity.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump, ventricular assist devices, arterial line, IMPELLA, and PA catheter procedures is preferred.
  • Additional Information: The unit has 16 beds with patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3. Equipment includes telemetry, IVs, PCA, epidurals, air mattresses, tube feeding, NGs, drains, foleys, PICCs, ventilators, and PA catheters. The unit cares for patients with myocardial infarctions, shock, cardiac arrest, CHF, arrhythmias, procedural cardiology patients, cardiac caths, electrophysiology studies, pre-Open Heart surgery, and TAVR. The team expects individuals to be extremely acute, hardworking team players who are accountable and flexible. Scrubs may be any color, and the dress code is fragrance-free with no artificial nails or non-professional attire.
