Job Summary:
The operating room registered nurse, first assist, is responsible for providing specialized nursing care in a pediatric surgical environment within a healthcare facility. Based in Norfolk, VA, this role involves Scrubbing and Circulating duties, with a focus on pediatric cases. The position requires prior pediatric experience and the ability to perform first assist procedures during surgeries.
Job Details:
- Location: Norfolk, VA
- Position: Registered Nurse, First Assist (Operating Room - ORFA)
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating between days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The assignment duration is 13 weeks, with 36 hours guaranteed weekly. Shift hours typically include 8/10/12-hour days, evenings, and nights, with on-call responsibilities.
- Start Date: 08/24/2026
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of pediatric nursing experience, ability to scrub and circulate in pediatric surgical procedures, current FLU vaccination (NO EXCEPTIONS)
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in pediatric operating room assisting is preferred.
