Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in the Saint Louis, Missouri area. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, and immediate postpartum patients within a high-acuity hospital environment. Candidates are required to bring their active nursing license on the first day. This position demands strong clinical judgment, the ability to work independently, and experience managing routine and high-risk obstetric patients.

Job Details:

• Location: Saint Louis, MO
• Position Type: RN in Labor & Delivery Department
• Shift: Nights, 7:00 pm 7:30 am, 3 or 4 shifts per week, minimum 36 hours weekly
• Required Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; minimum of 2 years recent inpatient, acute care hospital experience in labor and birth; experience in a team-based high acuity environment; capable of managing 2 patients on labor and 3-4 patients on antepartum; proficient in fetal monitoring and interpretation; skilled in labor support, coaching, medication administration, IV therapy, obstetric emergencies, and rapid response; excellent communication, critical thinking, and time management skills; familiarity with electronic medical records (EPIC); flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1-April 1, with exemptions approved by the client.
• Preferred Qualifications: NRP certification, AWHONN FHM training, and two years of current inpatient, acute care hospital experience.
• Float: Float rotation may be required as needed.
• Additional Information: Candidates must be comfortable caring for 2 patients on labor and 3-4 patients on antepartum. The unit includes Level 3 NICU and Level 4 high-volume obstetric care with approximately 8,000 deliveries annually.
