Description
Job Summary:
A Surgical First Assistant is needed in Portland, Oregon. This role involves assisting the primary surgeon during surgical procedures, providing exposure, hemostasis, tying or sewing, and other functions as determined by the surgeon. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position focuses on supporting a team to deliver high-quality patient care in a surgical environment.
Job Details:
- Location: Portland, OR
- Schedule: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts, starting at 6:45 AM. Thursdays off.
- Required Qualifications: High School Education or GED; associate's/technical degree or equivalent related experience preferred; Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS or HS-BLS or RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per organization policy; AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS certification.
- Essential Functions: Prepare and position patients for surgery, assist with visualization of the surgical field, provide hemostasis, harvest grafts, perform incisions closure, apply dressings, assist with draping, verify operative consent and pertinent details, review patient records, perform surgical hand scrub, gowning and gloving, ensure availability of surgical supplies and equipment, perform pre-and postoperative activities, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Additional Information: Candidates should expect to receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable.
