Job Summary:
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position is located in Lima, Ohio. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for post-operative open heart patients within a high-acuity setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment. The position follows a day shift schedule and requires a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Location: Lima, Ohio
• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license; current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; 2+ years of nursing experience, including post-operative open heart care and critical care; experience with chest tube and drain management; pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access; proficiency in cardiac monitoring and interpreting rhythm strips; knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities; experience assisting with chest tube removal, pacing wire removal, management of temporary pacers, use and troubleshooting of non-invasive ventilation devices, high-flow oxygen, and other oxygen delivery systems; ability to float to all units within skill level.
• Preferred Qualifications: Skills checklist pertinent to the PCU specialty current within 1 year.
• Additional Information: This role involves providing compassionate, evidence-based patient care, with responsibilities including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. Candidates must be adaptable to float to various units and work efficiently within a clinical team.
