Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) nursing position is located in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves providing specialized nursing care within the OR, supporting various surgical procedures, and collaborating with surgical teams. This position requires experience passing the arms in and out for robotics and proficiency across multiple surgical specialties. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with shifts primarily from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Flexibility for call responsibilities is included.
Job Details:
- Location: Martinsburg, West Virginia
- Schedule: 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with specific shift times from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; weekend and weekday call rotations required, including one weeknight on-call from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and one weekend per month from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); must have a license to practice, with willingness to wait if necessary; 2-3 years of experience in the operating room specialty; 2-3 previous travel assignments; experience passing the arms in and out for robotics; orthopedics experience; proficiency with all specialties during evening/night shifts; experience with EPIC electronic medical record; and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is preferred.
- Additional Information: Scrubbing is required for RN staff; minimal experience in one service line is acceptable if the candidate is willing to learn or refresh skills. The unit operates in an acute care setting with a strong focus on diverse surgical procedures including general, ENT, eyes, orthopedics, robotics, trauma, vascular, and pediatric cases.
- Floating and Dress Code: Scrubs are provided; float to outpatient surgery as needed.
- Orientation: 3 shifts over one week.
- Notes: OR staff is primarily composed of traveling professionals; no aides or housekeeping responsibilities; flexible scheduling options are available, with various start times and shifts.
- Charting System: EPIC.
- Additional Policies: Client may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week assignment; one shift for assignments less than 13 weeks.
- Experience Requirements: Experience passing the arms in and out for robotics and experience in multiple surgical specialties during evening/night shifts.
