Job Summary:
The position is located in Washington, District of Columbia. This full-time night shift Nursing Coordinator role involves overseeing hospital patient flow, capacity management, and operational coordination during overnight hours. Candidates must bring their license on the first day of employment. The role requires strong clinical judgment, operational awareness, leadership presence, and the ability to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Position: Night Shift Nursing Coordinator
  • Schedule: Full-time night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing - minimal), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse), CNL (Clinical Nurse Leader) preferred. Candidates must have current licensure and no minimum years of experience specified.
  • Additional Information: The individual in this role collaborates across departments to optimize patient access, bed utilization, and throughput. Responsibilities include managing admissions, transfers, hospital capacity, and interdisciplinary communication, especially during off-shifts, weekends, and holidays. The role also involves supporting operational escalation during census surges and facilitating patient flow initiatives.
  • Holiday Requirements: One winter holiday and one summer holiday, including the eve and day of the holiday.
  • Note: Previous employment with any Johns Hopkins facilities must be noted on the coversheet and work history if applicable.
