Job Summary:

The Milwaukee, Wisconsin, location is seeking experienced Critical Care Registered Nurses (RNs) for a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) position. Candidates will provide specialized care for post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, including those with complex hemodynamic monitoring and invasive procedures. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Position: ICU Cardiovascular (ICU OH) Critical Care RN for CVICU in Milwaukee, WI
• Shift: 12-hour shifts (0700-1900 or 1900-0700), on a 6-week schedule cycle; schedule received 1-2 weeks prior
• Start Date: 07/20/2026
• Required Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support); 3 years of ICU experience with 1-year CVICU experience; Wisconsin RN license; Certifications: CCRN preferred; Additional Skills: Competent in invasive line monitoring (Swan-Ganz, arterial lines), pacemaker management (epicardial, transvenous), chest tubes, cardiac medications (inotropes, vasopressors, sedation/paralytics), ventilator/trach management, cardiac rhythm interpretation; EPIC EMR experience; preferred CV surgical experience (ECMO, CVVH, IABP, VAD); Will accept first-time travelers meeting criteria.
• Preferred Qualifications: CCRN certification
• Additional Information: Orientation consists of 1 day of facility and unit training plus 2-4 hours of New Employee Orientation with a supervisor or nurse educator. After orientation, placement on the unit with a preceptor. Weekend rotations occur every third weekend. No on-call requirement. Limited holiday coverage (1-2 per contract). RTO approval up to 7 days.
• Float: Float rotation may be required for Emergency Department holding, other ICU units (M ICU, SICU, CICU, Neuro ICU), MSU (ratio 1:3), or Sitter coverage.
• Support within Department: Includes charge nurse, 24/7 HUC, dedicated CVICU intensivist, CT surgeon, hospitalist onsite, general intensivist, ICU-Designated Respiratory Therapist, bedside/nurses station telemetry monitoring.
• Technology/Equipment: EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, GE monitors, unit-specific equipment.
