Job Summary:
An ICU Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Carroll, Iowa. The role involves working in a Critical Care Unit (CCU) with a focus on titrating drips and monitoring telemetry. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This opportunity offers a chance to contribute to a specialized 6-bed unit with a focus on high-acuity patient care.
Job Details:
- Location: Carroll, Iowa
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, starting at 7:00 AM, with two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch break. The schedule is on a 6-week cyclic basis, accommodating schedule needs but without guaranteed block scheduling.
- Required Qualifications: Iowa RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, 1 year of healthcare experience, and willingness to wait for license submission.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Critical Care Unit (CCU), titrating drips such as Cardizem, insulin, norepinephrine, with at least 2 years of CCU experience and 1 year of travel nursing experience.
- Responsibilities: Titrate drips, monitor telemetry, collaborate with the healthcare team, and follow hospital protocols.
- Additional Information:
- No telemetry monitor technicians; CCU nurses monitor telemetry directly.
- Nurses cannot leave the unit without coverage, typically by the House Supervisor.
- The unit values awareness of quality projects and initiatives.
- Security measures include MEDITECH electronic charting and controlled access to medication drawers via physical keys.
- The unit observes every third weekend including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with some flexibility.
- Holiday work is required during the season, including one major and one minor holiday.
- Scrub dress code: Grey, Black, Pink, or White scrubs.
