Description
Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Neurology is needed for a facility in Boise, Idaho. This role involves providing acute care to neuro patients, including those with stroke, spine and cranial surgeries, and other neurological disorders. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Boise, Idaho
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Weekend and holiday needs as required)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; shifts primarily scheduled to ensure staffing needs are met, with a preference for three consecutive night shifts when possible
- Required Qualifications: Must have a Minimum of 2 years of recent experience with solid Medical Surgical or Telemetry (Telemetry) nursing background, with preferred stroke experience. Certifications include BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA or ARC, and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale). A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN), and BSN degree are required. Applicants must be able to submit their license and demonstrate compliance with the facility's radius policy, confirming residence outside 50 miles of the facility.
- Additional Information: The role involves working on a specialized neuro floor that manages patients with neurosurgical and neurointerventional needs. The unit supports a wide geographic area and is the only site for neuro surgery in the region. Experience with neuro diagnoses such as stroke, cranial surgeries, spine surgeries, Guillain-Barre syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, seizures, and EEG monitoring is preferred. The unit utilizes RT equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and trachs, with RT available as a resource. Telemetry monitors will be implemented summer 2024, with workflow being developed.
- Orientation: Two days of clinical orientation plus a didactic day with the unit-based educator.
- Float Requirements: Yes, travelers may float to support other Med-Surg areas within Treasure Valley.
