Description
Job Summary:
The ICU Intensive Care Unit Float Nurse position is based in Saint Louis, Missouri. This role entails providing specialized nursing care in multiple ICUs including Oncology, Neurology, Med Surg, Medicine, Trauma, Heart and Vascular, and COVID units. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment. The position involves floating across various inpatient units as needed, supporting a diverse patient population, and adhering to facility protocols and safety standards.
Job Details:
- Shift Hours: 12 hours per shift
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Required Qualifications: 2 years ICU experience, 1 year CV ICU experience, Missouri or compact license (must match permanent residence or submit for update), ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, OCN, TNCC certifications; vaccinations including flu (medical or religious exemptions allowed)
- Preferred Qualifications: EPIC EMR experience, experience in Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Vasoactive drips, Titrate Cardiac drips and Vasoactive drips, special procedures like CVVHD/CRRT, ECMO, ICP monitoring, Impella, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, plus holiday rotation
- Float: Float rotation may be required to inpatient floors and non-critical care units, with a ratio of no more than 1:3 when floating to inpatient floors.
- Additional Information:
- No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius; only travelers considered.
- All travelers will float within the service line.
- Must have proper vaccinations and certifications per facility requirements.
- No RTO (Request Time Off) beyond 7 days without manager approval, and no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment.
- Compliance deadline is 3 pm CST on the Monday the week before the start date.
