Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) Carlsbad, New Mexico. This position involves providing high-quality surgical patient care in a 99-bed healthcare facility with six operating rooms. The RN will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical personnel to ensure efficient and safe operative procedures, adhering to regulatory standards and facility policies. The role requires critical thinking, leadership, and a focus on patient safety throughout perioperative care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 2+ years of experience as an Operating Room RN, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications, experience with general, orthopedic, obstetrics/gynecology, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, trauma, and DaVinci robotics. Adult and pediatric OR experience necessary.

- Additional Information: The RN will demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership within the surgical team, ensuring smooth operations and patient safety. Responsibilities include managing supplies, supporting case flow, communicating with families, updating physician preference cards, scrubbing in surgical cases, and supervising patient care personnel. Call requirements include a minimum of one weekday call per week and weekend rotation, with on-call shifts from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM on weekdays and 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM on weekends.
