Description

Job Summary:
This RN position is located in Omaha, Nebraska, within a step down unit providing specialized care for patients requiring intermediate level monitoring. The role involves working night shifts and requires candidates to possess their license at the time of submission. Candidates must bring their license on the first day of assignment. The position emphasizes teamwork and adaptability, with a focus on managing high patient flow and transfers.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM 7:00 AM) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); Driver's license required at submittal; 2 years of recent experience in a step down or similar specialty unit; active license at the time of application; location within 50 miles and not part of full-time, part-time, or as-needed staff with any facility associated with the organization; experience with electronic medical records (EMR) system EPIC.
  • Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to Medical/Surgical areas and other hospital units, including ICU/ER, depending on patient needs and abilities.
  • Additional Information:
    • RTO (Remaining Time Off) must be requested upfront for 7 or fewer days within a 13-week contract; no additional RTO will be approved after submission.
    • This role involves a high flow of admissions, transfers, and discharges.
    • The unit utilizes specialized equipment such as code carts, LUCAS machines, Hoyer lifts, and Sit and Stand aids.
    • The work environment requires positive team players willing to support a cohesive team atmosphere.
    • Orientation includes one week of classroom training followed by two 12-hour shifts.
    • The hospital's cancellation policy permits up to 4 shifts to be canceled per 13-week assignment.
