Description

Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Oncology Floor (Oncology) RN position is available at a healthcare facility located in Fountain Valley, California. This position involves working in an outpatient oncology infusion center, providing specialized patient care for adults receiving chemotherapy and other treatment modalities. Candidates are required to bring their valid California nursing license on the first day of work.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, Dayshift from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid California nursing license in hand, two years of experience working in an outpatient oncology setting, certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Oncology Nursing Certification (ONCC).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing ports, administering chemotherapy, monitoring chemotherapy treatments, recognizing abnormal lab values, and managing side effects.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must be proficient in starting intravenous (IV) lines and managing infusion pumps. Experience with accessing and managing ports, administering chemotherapy via IV push or infusion, and outpatient oncology procedures is required. This role includes working within a team providing infusion therapy to adult patients diagnosed with various cancers such as breast, colorectal, leukemia, lung, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, pancreatic, and prostate cancer.
  • Travel & Additional Requirements: Candidates will float within the hospital based on census. No previous permanent staff are permitted. RTO (Request for Time Off) must be presented at the time of submission; no RTO requests will be accepted after submission. Attach Nursys record (pulled within the last 2 weeks) and submit one reference from within the past 2 years.
