Job Summary:
A Clinical Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery is sought for a facility located in San Luis Obispo, California. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency interventions such as circulating for Cesarean sections. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: San Luis Obispo, California
- Shift: Nights, 1900 - 0730
- Hours per week: 36 hours
- Required Qualifications: Current RN license in the state of practice; Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; two years experience in Labor and Delivery (preferred); certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course, and Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or AWHONN.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Additional Information: The schedule is determined based on unit needs with no block scheduling; all required vaccinations must be up to date.
- Essential Functions: Includes physical and psychosocial assessments, managing perinatal emergencies, pain management, patient and family education, accurate documentation, and safety and quality control checks.
