Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Postpartum care is sought for a facility located in Austin, Texas. This position involves working on a Level IV maternal and Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The role focuses on providing exceptional postpartum nursing services in a busy, high-volume setting, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and effective patient management.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts)
- Schedule: 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Start Date: 09/14/2026
- Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Texas licensure, at least 1 year of relevant experience, BLS certification, and NRP Advanced Provider certification
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous labor and delivery or antepartum experience, familiarity with EMR Meditech and CPN software
- Type of unit: 24 beds, staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 4 RNs during day shifts, no patient care technicians at night
- Patient Ratios: Usually 3:1 or 4:1, occasionally 2:1 depending on patient acuity
- Typical Procedures: Non-stress tests, hyperemesis management, insulin and magnesium drips, heparin administration
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
