Job Summary:
This healthcare organization is seeking a registered nurse (RN) for a Medical Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC) unit located in Portland, Maine. The position involves both day and night shifts on weekends, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of work.

Job Details:

  • Location: Portland, Maine
  • Shift: 12-hour shifts (day and night shifts on weekends) with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), 1-2 years of nursing experience, experience with tracheostomies and interpreting telemetry strips, Ventilator experience for IMC registered nurses, proficiency with electronic medical records (Epic)
  • Preferred Qualifications: None specified
  • Float: IMC registered nurses may float to other IMC levels of care and med/surg units; med/surg registered nurses may float within the same level of care as needed, based on unit requirements and skillsets
  • Additional Information: Experience with ventilators (for IMC nurses), patient populations include respiratory, medical telemetry, surgical, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and other acute or chronic medical conditions. The position involves teamwork, flexibility, good communication skills, and patient-centered care.
  • Responsibilities: Providing care to patients with various medical conditions, managing ventilators, tracheostomies, and telemetry monitoring, adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards.
