Description

Job Summary:
The medical surgical oncology floor RN position is located in Lacey, Washington. This outpatient infusion and oncology role involves providing specialized nursing care for cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position includes a schedule of five eight-hour days from 7:15 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with shifts that may vary until the last patient is seen. No holidays or weekends are required.

Job Details:

  • Location: Lacey, WA
  • Certifications: Chemo certification required (ONS/ONCC), Basic Life Support (BLS); Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred
  • Experience required: In infusion center or outpatient oncology, with consideration for inpatient oncology experience, IM subcutaneous injection experience, and therapeutic phlebotomy
  • Schedule: 5x8 days (Monday-Friday), typically from 7:15 AM to 4:00 PM, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Additional qualifications: Knowledge in accessing/managing ports, administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy, managing side effects, port/catheter care, IV administration, and patient education relevant to outpatient oncology care
  • Unit details: Private rooms with 26 chairs, specialized equipment including a Hoyer patient lift, and adherence to strict safety protocols including PPE and isolation precautions
  • Patient demographics: Adults and geriatrics receiving oncology, hematology, or non-oncology infusions such as rheumatology, gastrointestinal, neurology, and pulmonology, with an estimated daily census of 70 patients
  • Documentation and compliance: Two references covering at least one year, with pre-start and annual module completion via Workramp
  • Experience: 0 years minimum required
