Description

Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking an Outpatient Infusion/Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) in Lacey, Washington. This position involves providing specialized infusion services for oncology and hematology patients requiring chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other non-oncology infusions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role emphasizes patient education, management of ports, and administration of chemotherapy, with a focus on outpatient care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 5x8 Days (Monday-Friday), 0730-1600; shifts may vary, work until last patient is seen. Typically start times are 0715-0745. No holidays or weekends.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license in the state of Washington, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Chemotherapy Certification (ONS/ONCC). Experience in infusion centers or outpatient oncology is preferred; inpatient oncology experience may be considered. Experience with infusion pump management, port management, chemotherapy administration, and IM subcutaneous injections is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential is preferred.
  • Additional Information: The unit has 2 private rooms and 26 chairs, specializing in chemotherapy and immunotherapy infusions. The role involves managing complex treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care. Candidates must have experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic, and demonstrate competency in managing adverse reactions and side effects related to cancer therapies.
  • Certifications: Chemo Certification (ONS/ONCC) and BLS are required. OCNS certification is preferred.
  • Experience: No minimum years of experience explicitly required; relevant outpatient oncology or infusion center experience is valued.
  • References: Two references covering a total of 1 year (6 months for CNAs) within the last 3 years are required prior to start.
