Description

Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking an experienced inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Burn for a position located in Madison, Wisconsin. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of orientation. This role involves working evening and night 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend and some holidays, on an acuity adaptable ICU unit that provides care for adult and pediatric patients with complex burns and wounds. The nurse will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate critical care, supporting the facility's status as a designated Trauma Center and Burn Center.

Job Details:

  • Location: Madison, WI
  • Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Burn
  • Shift Schedule: Evening/Night, 12 hours shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with every other weekend and some holidays
  • Required Qualifications: Two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the ICU Burn specialty, Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications, PALS certification (preferred), must pass strict pass/fail telemetry exam prior to start
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Burn Intensive Care Unit (Burn ICU), Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU), Surgical ICU or Trauma ICU, and management of complex wounds or burns
  • Responsibilities: Managing ports and arterial lines, assisting with chest tube procedures, ventilator management, administering emergency medications, interpreting arterial blood gases, managing dysrhythmias, supporting patients with multisystem organ failure, performing procedures such as phlebotomy and PICC line management, and providing specialty ICU care for burn and trauma patients
  • Certifications Needed: ACLS, BLS, PALS (or eligible)
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of recent acute care experience in the ICU Burn specialty
  • Additional Information: Must pass Telemetry test before starting, pass/fail testing with strict criteria, and complete a telemetry exam with two attempts allowed. The role requires float as needed within the unit.
