Description

Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Dallas, TX. This role involves providing high risk obstetrical care in a busy labor and delivery unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized unit with experienced staff and advanced equipment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Dallas, TX
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with weekly rotations
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week, 13-week assignment length
  • Certifications: Must possess current RNC (Registered Nurse Certification), Intermediate AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) fetal monitoring certificate
  • Experience: At least 2 years of high risk labor and delivery care, including high risk obstetrical bedside training, circulating in cesarean sections in the labor and delivery area, and recovering high acuity patients
  • Required Skills: Experience with high risk obstetrical bedside procedures, venturing in cesarean sections, postpartum recovering, using GE fetal monitors, documenting with Meditech electronic health record system
  • Patient Ratios: 2:1 and 3:1 for high risk obstetrical unit, triage, and postpartum care
  • Unit Details: High risk obstetrical unit with 24 beds, responsible for vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C procedures, postpartum recovery
  • Equipment: GE fetal monitors
  • Dress Code: Clean, healthy nails; neat and clean hair with no extreme styles or colors; body art should be covered; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
  • Float Policy: Ability to float to antepartum unit within womens health services as needed
  • Attendance Policies: Adherence to the organization-wide attendance policy
