Job Summary:
The ICU Cardiovascular (ICU OH) position is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, within a Level II Trauma Center that is Magnet designated and features a comprehensive stroke center. This critical care role involves working in a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) with a focus on advanced cardiac patient management. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position involves providing specialized nursing care to post-operative cardiac and vascular patients in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support); 3 years of ICU experience with 1-year CVICU experience; Wisconsin license; Certifications: CCRN preferred; Additional skills include invasive line monitoring (Swan Ganz catheters, arterial lines), pacemakers (epicardial, transvenous), chest tubes, cardiac medications, ventilator and tracheostomy management, cardiac rhythm interpretation. EPIC experience is preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: CCRN certification, experience with specific cardiovascular surgical procedures (ECMO, CVVH, IABP, VAD).
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with rotation every third weekend; no on-call requirement; schedule cycle is 6 weeks, with 1-2 weeks advanced notice.
• Additional Information: Weekend rotation every third shift; no on-call duty; approved RTO up to 7 days; adheres to a fatigue policy limiting work to 60 hours weekly and no more than 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts; unit uses EPIC electronic medical records; scrubs of any solid, professional color are permitted; free parking available, with shuttle service during the day and attached parking structure at night; orientation includes 1 day of facility orientation plus 2-4 hours with a supervisor or nurse educator, followed by placement with a preceptor.
