Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU CV) nurse position is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role involves providing critical care in a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) for adult patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This position offers an opportunity to work in a Level II Trauma Center with advanced cardiovascular equipment and a highly skilled team.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, available from 0700-1900 or 1900-0700; schedule cycle is 6 weeks, with 1-2 weeks' notice prior to commencement
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS and ACLS certifications; 3 years of ICU experience with at least 1 year in CVICU; active license; CCRN certification preferred; experience with invasive line monitoring (Swan Ganz, arterial lines), pacemakers (epicardial, transvenous), chest tubes, cardiac medications (inotropes, vasopressors, sedation/paralytics), ventilator and tracheostomy management, cardiac rhythm interpretation; EPIC electronic medical record experience; preferred CV surgical experience including ECMO, CVVH, IABP, VAD.
• Preferred Qualifications: CCRN certification.
• Additional Information: The unit provides a 1-day orientation and 2-4 hours of New Employee Orientation (NEO) with a supervisor/nurse educator. After orientation, the nurse will be placed on the unit with a preceptor. The position involves working with a dedicated team including charge nurses, intensivists, hospitalists, ICU RT, and support staff available 24/7. The unit is equipped with electronic monitors, EPIC EMR, Alaris infusion pumps, and GE monitors. Floating may be required to ED Holding, other ICU units, or MSU. The staff cannot work more than 60 hours per week or more than 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per the organizations fatigue policy.
