Job Summary:
This position is for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in Washington, District of Columbia. The role involves providing advanced neonatal care for critically ill newborns, including vent management, oscillators, pressors, and care for micro preemies. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Washington, DC
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
- Start Date: 07/13/2026
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in District of Columbia; NICU experience of at least 2 years; NICU stable, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications; must be a Level III NICU nurse capable of managing vents, oscillators, and pressors.
- Preferred Qualifications: Over 3 years of NICU experience.
- Additional Information: This role involves caring for neonatal patients admitted from labor and delivery, ranging from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months old. Responsibilities include assessment and immediate care for neonatal emergencies, assisting with bedside procedures such as IV insertions, intubations, and medication administration, and attending high-risk deliveries. Knowledge of services like noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, nitric oxide inhalation therapy, and related procedures is essential.
