Job Summary:
The medical surgical floor (MS) RN position is located in West Des Moines, Iowa. This role involves working on a med surg post-operative/spine care unit. Candidates are required to bring their active Iowa (IA) license on the first day. The position entails working nights with a schedule of 12-hour shifts, totaling a minimum of 48 hours per week. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong heparin experience and EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency, with previous operating room experience. Candidates should have a minimum of 24 months of current med surg or post-operative experience within a hospital or medical center setting, along with at least three months of recent travel experience in the past 12 months.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum 48 hours per week
• Start Date: 07/20/2026
• Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), active Iowa (IA) or multistate license, 24 months of current med surg or post-op/surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting, 3 months of recent travel experience within the last 12 months, strong heparin experience, EPIC EMR experience, and practice-specific skills checklist for Operating Room Nurse/RN.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with spine care, post-operative/surgical unit, and familiarity with EPIC EMR system.
• Additional Information: Candidates must have a professional reference or performance evaluation from within the last 24 months, a drivers license, and be able to work on traditional American holidays such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
