Description

Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is needed at a healthcare organization located in Issaquah, Washington. This role involves providing care related to post-partum, labor, and delivery, including neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and delivery (L&D) procedures. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.

  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a registered nurse, current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, valid Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, at least 2 years of experience in labor and delivery, and previous charge and travel experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with community hospital settings, EMR proficiency in community hospital systems.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to NICU or L&D units.
  • Additional Information: The role involves working with post-partum vaginal or cesarean delivery patients, tubal ligation, circumcision, GYN surgeries, and other obstetric and neonatal care procedures. Candidates must have completed required modules prior to start, averaging 16 hours spent, with over 20 hours requiring project manager approval.
  • Special Procedures/Equipment: CPAP/BiPAP, blood and blood product administration, cooling/warming blankets, 12 lead EKG, drains, epidural, PCA and syringe pumps, wound vac, administered medications such as heparin, insulin, magnesium sulfate, and attendance at all deliveries.
  • References: Two references covering one year (or six months for CNAs) within the last three years are required during the compliance process and prior to start.
