Description

Job Summary:
The pediatric critical care unit specialty is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse in Aurora, Colorado. The position involves rotating day and night shifts within a Level Three Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with an open heart focus. This 13-week assignment is designed for experienced pediatric critical care nurses committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic hospital environment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Aurora, Colorado
  • Position Title: RN - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Open Heart
  • Unit: Level Three - PICU
  • Assignment Duration: 09/08/2026 to 12/12/2026
  • Shift Schedule: 12-hour rotating days/nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Travel Required: No
  • Float Requirement: No
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Education: BSN preferred; ADN with 6 years of experience will be considered
    • Licensure/Certification: Colorado RN license or multi-state compact license, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Other: Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCR) certification preferred
  • Required Job Qualifications:
    • 2-3 years of staff RN experience in dedicated pediatric CVICU or pediatric CICU with open heart focus
    • Previous travel nursing experience
  • Certifications: PALS Heartcode, ACLS Heartcode (no Heartcode complete), BLS
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • CCRN and ventricular assist device (VAD) experience preferred; please note in work history comments
    • Teaching hospital experience strongly preferred
  • Additional Information:
    • No approved RTO within the first two weeks of the assignment
    • Medical and religious exemption requests for seasonal influenza vaccination are accommodated
