Job Summary:
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse Practitioner located in Aurora, Colorado, specializes in pediatric open-heart care within a Level Three Critical Care Intensive Care Unit (CICU). This 13-week assignment focuses on providing expert nursing care for critically ill children requiring advanced pediatric intensive care services. The role requires adaptable scheduling with rotating day and night shifts and is designed for experienced pediatric critical care professionals.

Job Details:

  • Position: RN - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Open Heart
  • Location: Aurora, Colorado
  • Assignment Duration: 09/08/2026 to 12/12/2026
  • Shift Schedule: 12-Hour rotating Days/Nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (Rotating shifts per unit needs)
  • Hours per Week: Minimum of 36 hours
  • Travel Required: No
  • Float Requirement: No
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Education: BSN Will Consider ADN with 6 years of relevant experience
    • Licensure/Certification: Colorado RN license or multi-state compact license, PALS, ACLS, BLS
    • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years Staff RN experience in dedicated CVPICU (pediatric CICU OH), previous travel experience preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Pediatric CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
    • VAD experience (preferred, please annotate in work history comments)
    • Teaching hospital experience (strongly preferred)
  • Additional Notes:
    • No RTO approved within the first two weeks of the assignment
    • Medical and religious exemption requests from seasonal influenza vaccination are permitted
    • 50 Mile Radius Rule applies
    • Float: The employer reserves the right to reassign personnel within their clinical competence and within thirty-five miles of the original facility if needed
    • Up to 75% of shifts may include weekend work
    • No on-call duty required
