Job Summary:
The medical surgical neurology nurse position is located in Portland, Oregon. This role involves providing specialized care on a neurology-focused unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The position requires flexible float coverage between units and neighboring facilities, with potential for on-call responsibilities, including holiday shifts.

Job Details:

• Location: Portland, OR
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; minimum 2 years of recent experience in medical surgical or neurovascular acute care; experience with CVA, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and related protocols; proficiency in non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care/management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams. Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system.
• Preferred Qualifications: Additional neuro-specific skills and experience are preferred but not required.
• Shift Hours: 12-hour night shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Candidates must have a vehicle for this assignment. Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby their contracted location. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment and forfeiture of guaranteed hours. Candidates should include responses regarding previous experience at a Providence facility, including locations and dates worked.
• Schedule & Travel: Must be available for holiday shifts including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. Requests for specific time off and RTO (Request for Time Off) should be made during submittal.
• Operational Notes: Valid drivers license and reliable transportation are mandatory. No call-in policy unless specified. Modular training hours are non-billable and require approval if exceeding 20 hours.
