Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) nurse position is based in Castro Valley, California. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for surgical patients, including planning, managing, and coordinating perioperative treatments. Candidates are required to bring their California RN license on the first day. The position involves on-call responsibilities, with an on-site shift of 8 hours during days, a minimum of 40 hours per week, and scheduled every other weekend.

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS; must be current and valid, with certifications uploaded with valid expiration dates
• Required Qualifications: California RN License; BLS and ACLS certifications; Epic charting system experience; 3+ years of nursing experience; 1 year of travel experience; active CA RN license; ability to handle various surgical procedures and emergencies
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience; Trauma Level I or II experience; community hospital experience; LTAC experience; prior experience with Epic EMR system; two references obtained within the last year
• Schedule: 8-hour days, minimum 40 hours per week, with on-call as needed and every other weekend coverage
• Additional Information: Travel experience of at least one year is preferred; candidates should be comfortable with a wide variety of surgical procedures ranging from vascular to trauma, gynecological, orthopedic, and general surgery; must adhere to OSHA Risk Category I (High Risk) protocols; compliance with vaccination requirements, including COVID-19 and flu vaccines, is necessary.
