Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) professional in Portland, Oregon. This role involves working in an acute hospital setting, supporting sterilization processes, and ensuring proper handling of surgical instruments and equipment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care through meticulous sterilization procedures and equipment management.
Job Details:
- Location: Portland, OR
- Shift Hours: 8 hours per shift, rotating schedule
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
- Required Qualifications: 1 year of experience in sterile processing or related field; certifications include CBSPD and IAHCSMM/HSPAS; education requirements are pending licensure or certification validation; must have a valid Oregon license or be eligible to obtain one.
- Certifications: CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPAS
- Qualifications: Experience with acute hospital OR environments; proficient in cleaning equipment such as crash carts, IV pumps, PCA pumps; knowledgeable in high-level disinfection (HLD), sterilization wrapping procedures, and the use of washers/sterilizers; familiarity with sterilization wrapping procedures, sets/trays assembly, and equipment documentation.
- Preferred Qualifications: Robotics experience and experience with advanced sterilization systems such as the Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM).
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours weekly, starting on 07/27/2026.
- Additional Information: Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility. The position requires a commitment to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day). Candidates should have a vehicle for this assignment.
