Description

Job Summary:
Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Lincoln, Nebraska. The role involves providing patient care in a medical-surgical unit within an acute care setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Location: Lincoln, NE
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM; minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit; BLS Certification; minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical-surgical setting; experience with EPIC electronic health record system; Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Not specified
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to other units such as PCU or Burn Scrub.
  • Additional Information: The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6, with staffing at least once a week at a 1:6 ratio. The department handles medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients. A charge nurse is present on each shift and may take assignments. No titratable drips are used except Heparin, with RT available 24 hours on the floor. Telemetry is on the floor with centralized tele monitoring. Nurse aides/patient care techs are available, with staffing ratios of approximately 1:10-12. The unit maintains a strict radius rule of 50 miles, and candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization including those affiliated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity. RTO approval requires upfront submission for 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved.
