Job Summary:
A registered nurse specialized in Labor and Delivery is sought for a healthcare facility located in Pendleton, Oregon. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care within the Labor and Delivery department, including routine nursery and intermediate nursery care, ensuring independence in all areas of patient care. Candidates are required to bring their Oregon nursing license or 90-day emergency license on the first day of shift.
Job Details:
- Location: Pendleton, Oregon
- Specialty: Labor and Delivery Department
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, either 7:00 AM 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, with block scheduling and trades allowed
- Schedule: Minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 07/13/2026
- Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Certifications: BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); Min Experience Required: 2 years
- Required Qualifications: Oregon License or OR 90 Day Emergency License, BLS Certification, NRP Certification, 2 years of RN experience in Labor and Delivery, functioning independently in all areas of care; experience with routine nursery and intermediate nursery required
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Labor and Delivery, routine nursery, intermediate nursery, ability to be independent in all care areas; strong skills required
- Common procedures: Titration of Pitocin induction/augmentation and insulin drips, Mag Sulfate
- Equipment: Central fetal strip monitoring, maternal cardiac monitoring by ICU staff, vent (stabilize/transfer only), bubble CPAP
- House supervisions: Charge nurse on unit, house supervisor in-house 24/7 (on call)
- Staffing support: OB teams, OB/neonatologist on call 24/7 (no in-house), nurse aides/CNA II, unit secretary
- Other details: 1 major, 1 minor holiday requirement, on-call expectations to be discussed, floating expectations to be discussed, scrubs provided, unit-specific orientation typically 3 shifts, unit can be busy at times requiring flexibility in task switching.
