Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in open heart surgery is sought for a position in Sacramento, California. This role involves working in a fast-paced, high-volume OR with a focus on cardiovascular surgeries such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and valve procedures. Candidates must have strong cardiovascular operating room experience and the ability to read and interpret EKG strips. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Sacramento, California
  • Shift: Five (5) 8-hour shifts with varied hours, 10-hour day shifts, and overnight call once a week
  • Schedule: 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: BLS Certification, ACLS (AHA), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA, a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience, valid license to submit not required, BSN not required
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing 8 to 10 surgeries per day, confidence in interpreting EKG strips, ability to float to other facilities as needed, experience with Cerner electronic charting system, ability to work in a very busy, fast-paced OR environment, familiarity with cardiac surgery cases (CABG, valves, etc.)
  • Additional Information: This role involves working in a very busy, fast-paced OR focusing on heart surgeries. Candidates will be working closely with a team in a care setting that includes surgeries such as CABG and valve procedures. Candidates may only have been employed PRN through outside firms within the past year and cannot have been directly employed by facilities associated with the organization within that period. The hospital retains the right to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, with initial orientation of 1-2 days with a preceptor in the OR.
