Job Summary:
A Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Morgantown, West Virginia. This role involves providing specialized care to cardiac and medical-surgical patients within a 32-bed unit that includes step-down and floor beds. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays, ensuring a comprehensive experience in a dynamic clinical environment.

Job Details:

• Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
• Unit type: Step Down
• Shift: Night shift, 12 hours per shift; 48 hours per week; rotating weekends and holidays
• Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS; minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an RN; must hold a current license at the time of submission and be willing to wait for license approval
• Preferred Qualifications: Cardiac experience is highly preferred
• Responsibilities include managing cardiac and medical-surgical patients, titrating drips such as Heparin, insulin, nitro, Cardizem, nicardipine, Lasix, amio, dobutamine, and adhering to unit protocols
• Staffing notes: Dedicated charge nurse on each shift; clinical associates assist overnight with staffing ratios of approximately 1:16 to 1:8; tele techs monitor telemetry using Phillips monitoring systems and sit in designated tele rooms
• Additional information: Rotate pull to the floor during shifts; first to be pulled off if needed; no call or standby requirements; scrubs are Royal blue; unit-specific orientation provided; EPIC charting system; two shifts are canceled per 13-week assignment, or one shift for less than 13 weeks; cancellation policy and scheduling flexibility are incorporated
