Description

Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery Nurse position is available in Chandler, Arizona. The role involves caring for laboring and preterm pregnant patients in a Level II Enhanced Quality (EQ) facility that handles gestations of 28 weeks and greater. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This position requires working night shifts and involves circulating and recovering C-section patients, with specific clinical skills and certifications.

Job Details:

  • Location: Chandler, AZ
  • Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Four weekend shifts per schedule are required; the first to float; and hospital holidays coverage is preferred.
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), ACLS; 4 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; licensed and willing to wait for licensure; experience with C-sections and computer charting, preferably Cerner EMR.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center and familiarity with Cerner EMR system.
  • Additional Information: The unit staff strives to follow AWHONN guidelines and ratios, with staffing adjustments as needed. Unit has 18 labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum (LDRP) beds, 14 OB triage beds, and 8 antepartum beds. There are two fully equipped Operating Rooms for C-sections, and the team includes 13 charge nurses, no nurse aides, and an embedded In-house OB hospitalist, RT team, anesthesia team, and pharmacy available 24/7. The facility is a Level II EQ and Level I Trauma Center, accepting gestations of 28 weeks and higher. It is important for candidates to confidently circulate and recover C-section patients.
  • Additional notes: The unit employs Cerner as its charting system and Fetal Link for electronic fetal monitoring. The floor specific orientation is one week, and candidates must participate in titrating drips such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate as per protocols.
