Description
Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) is needed in Baltimore, Maryland. The role involves providing high-level care to critically ill patients within a busy surgical ICU setting. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of employment. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on trauma, transplant, Vascular, gastrointestinal, orthopedic/neuro spine, and general surgery patient populations.
Job Details:
- Location: Baltimore, MD
- Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts)
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Start Date: 07/20/2026
- Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, strong Surgical ICU experience with at least 2 years of current experience, and at least 2 previous travel assignments in ICU settings. Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC, is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Critical Care Certification, trauma course, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, and trauma course completion.
- Schedule: Weekends: 3 out of 6 weekends per 6-week schedule. Call: 2 availability calls within the 6-week schedule. Holidays: as needed.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to an area of like skill set.
- Additional Information: Prior employment with any Johns Hopkins Health System facility must be noted in the applicants work history to verify rehire eligibility. Candidates previously employed in any capacity at Johns Hopkins facilities must have been away for at least 1 full year before applying as a traveler.
