Job Summary:
Richmond, Virginia The organization is seeking a Certified Surgical Assistant for a role in the Operating Room (OR). This position involves supporting surgical procedures, primarily in orthopedics, spine, and general (bariatric) surgeries. Candidates are required to bring their license to practice as a surgical assistant in Virginia on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Required Qualifications: Candidates must be licensed in the state of Virginia as a surgical assistant (not to be confused with a surgical technician).

  • The unit operates in the OR on the first floor, with approximately 8 staff members (when fully staffed).
  • Current staffing includes 2.9 FTEs hired into the department as of 02/15/2024.
  • The position requires a quick learner, self-starter, and easy-going personality.
  • The unit is covered by call for after-hours and weekends depending on staffing availability.
  • The role involves supporting orthopedic, spinal, and bariatric procedures, with focus on efficient and safe surgical assistance.
  • Hospital-laundered scrubs are provided.
