Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Labor and Delivery Nurse for a position located in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves providing care in a Maternal Infant Unit that handles vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, antepartum patients, and newborn and postpartum care. Candidates are required to bring their professional license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Richmond, VA
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, including every third weekend with 12 hours of on-call per a 4-week schedule, covering day and night shifts
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Fetal Monitoring Certification; at least 2 years of labor experience; 2+ years of labor experience in a high-volume Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit; experience performing vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, antepartum, newborn, and postpartum care; proficiency in Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working in an LDRP unit with high birth volumes.
- Additional Information:
- Unit features include 24 beds with staff comprising labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB technicians, secretaries, leadership, and educators.
- Patient ratios are typically 1:1 for labor, and 5-6:1 for postpartum and nursery patients.
- Equipment includes GE fetal monitors.
- Dress code is navy blue scrubs; MIU nurses wear pink badges for infant security.
