Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MedSurg) Post Surgical units is being sought for a facility located in Medford, Oregon. The role involves providing high-quality patient care within a 38-bed unit that accommodates general, urology, abdominal, amputations, trauma, ENT, and bariatric patients (excluding cardiac, orthopedic, or neuro cases). Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position features night shifts, and candidates must be available to start on 07/13/2026.
Job Details:
- Location: Medford, Oregon
- Specialty: Medical Surgical Floor (MedSurg)
- Shift Hours: 12-hour night shifts (0645 PM - 0715 AM) and (1845 PM - 0715 AM)
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license (Non-Oregon Licensed RNs may apply and be eligible for a 90-day temporary license if their permanent license is not posted before the start date), BLS Certification, 2 years of relevant experience, and preferred experience with chest tubes, central lines, heparin drips, NG tubes, JP drains, wound vacs, and dressing changes.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Prefer candidates experienced with chest tubes, central lines, heparin drips, NG, JP drains, wound vacs, and dressing changes; basic understanding of strip interpretation and lethal rhythms; knowledge of titratable drips like heparin and set-rate medications such as amiodarone and cardizem.
- Float: Travelers are first to float within skill set and may be floated to other med surg units, ICU, ER, or as a sitter.
- Staffing and Operational Notes: Charge nurse/staff takes no patient assignment; RN to CNA ratio is 1:7 on days and 1:11 on nights.
- Equipment & Dress Code: No vents or CPAP, scrubs provided in any color, with grooming restrictions such as no tattoos above shoulders and limited facial piercings.
- Additional & Orientation Information: 2 twelve-hour shifts for department-specific orientation; participating in bedside report and hourly rounding are expected.
- Minimum Experience: 0 years (as per job order, but preferable 2 years experience with specified skills)
