Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse for a challenging and fast-paced critical care environment in Morgantown, West Virginia. The position involves night shifts (7 pm to 7 am) with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Candidates are required to bring their licensure documentation on the first day. The role demands critical care experience and current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).

• Licensing: Active license or willingness to wait for licensure
• Submission Requirements:
  • Candidates must be able to submit only one application at a time across the entire facility system.
  • Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility.
  • Previous permanent candidates must wait 2 years before reapplying.
  • Previous travelers who were on assignment for 1 full year must wait 2 years before reapplying.
  • Must include an unexpired copy of the candidates drivers license with submissions.
  • All submittals should be submitted together in one email.
  • Exemption forms for medical or religious reasons must be submitted promptly for review.
• Clinical Operations:
  • ICU beds: MICU 28 beds; Neuro 20 beds with a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
  • Common patient diagnoses: Covid; ARDS; GKA; GI bleed; Sepsis; Acute renal failure; Stroke; Dialysis; Head bleeds; Ventricular and external brain drains
  • Critical care skills required in order to titrate drips such as Levophed, phenylephrine, Versed, paralytics, heparin, insulin
  • RT (Respiratory Therapy) available 24/7 with equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, etc.
  • Nursing staff to observe strip readings from another floor; no telemetry techs on-site
  • No call or standby requirements; float rotation may be required across ICU or step-down units
  • Scrub color/dress code: Royal blue
  • Unit-specific orientation may be a few shifts
  • Cancellation policy: two shifts per 13-week contract
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Shift notes: Night shifts scheduled for 12 hours, inclusive of weekends and holidays as scheduled
  • Holidays: Every other holiday, with the day prior observed as a holiday
  • Candidate must be willing to wait for licensure before starting
