Job Summary:
The healthcare organization in Bethel, Alaska, is seeking a Licensed Registered Nurse for an ambulatory care medical surgical skilled position. This role involves delivering comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, directing and coordinating nursing activities based on established standards, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Candidates are required to bring their license in good standing on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Bethel, Alaska
- Shift Hours: 8 hours per day
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
- Start Date: 07/21/2026
- Required Qualifications: Must have completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN (National League for Nursing) approved institution. Must be licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse.
- Responsibilities: Manage and administer treatments and medications, interpret diagnostic tests, provide patient and family education, utilize medical terminology, and collaborate with healthcare teams. Maintain documentation of actions in care delivery, follow guidelines, and respond effectively to questions from managers, clients, and the public. Demonstrate knowledge of the nursing process, care management, and continuity of care.
- Knowledge and Skills: Proficient oral and written communication skills, basic EKG and nursing skills, ability to read and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and regulations. Ability to perform mathematical calculations and interpret data. Capable of handling practical problems and instructions in various formats.
- Additional Information: Orientation begins on a Tuesday; therefore, the first week may not include guaranteed hours if the guaranteed hours are set at 40 per week. Candidates must show proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations.
