Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Post Surgical located in Medford, Oregon. This position involves providing care on a MedSurg Post Surgical unit with a capacity of 38 beds, including semi-private accommodations. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves caring for post-surgical patients with diverse diagnoses, and experience with related procedures and equipment is preferred.
Job Details:
- Location: Medford, Oregon
- Specialty: Medical Surgical Floor (MS)
- Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts (0645-1915 and 1845-0715), minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications: BLS Certification; Education Requirements include consistent experience of 2 years in a similar setting; Licensure: Non-Oregon Licensed RNs can apply and be eligible for a 90-day temporary license if their permanent license is not posted before the start of their assignment.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Prefer candidates experienced with chest tubes, central lines, heparin drips, NG, JP drains, wound vacs, and dressing changes. Basic understanding of strip interpretation and lethal rhythms.
- Additional Information: No specific requirement, possibly rotate in with core staff; candidates should have a positive attitude and participate in bedside report. Floating to other med surg units, ICU, or ER as needed; travelers are first to float within their skill set.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts: 0645-1915 and 1845-0715. No blockscheduling; flexible scheduling depending on department needs.
- Call/Standby: If the RN is not needed, they may be placed on standby and called in at any time during the shift.
- Floating: Travelers are first to float within their skill set and may float to other units as a resource.
- Dress Code: Any colored professional scrubs; tattoos above shoulders are not permitted; only a nose stud facial piercing allowed; natural hair color only.
- Additional notes: Hourly rounding, bedside report participation, and maintaining a positive attitude are key duties.
- Licensure: Licenses must be submitted; willing to wait for licensing if necessary.
- Trauma Level: 2.
- Care Setting: Acute.
- Division: Shift notes confirm 12-hour days, with every other weekend expected.
