Job Summary
Critical Care Registered Nurse (ICU) Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) and stepdown unit, focusing on adult and geriatric patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. The role requires adaptability to float between units and hospitals, with a focus on post-operative recovery and complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring, supporting a patient-centered approach to care.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts with 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse license in Alabama or a compact state license; at least 2 years of recent ICU experience, specifically in cardiac care; associate degree in nursing; certifications including American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Red Cross; NIH certification preferred; PALS optional for pediatric units.
- Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications such as PALS, if working with pediatric patients.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The position requires a high level of professional competency in critical care nursing with experience in post-surgical cardiovascular patient management. The facility operates on a Meditech electronic medical record system. The start date is 09/07/2026. Parking is available at the location.
