Description
Job Summary:
The Surgical Technician (Operating Room Technician) position is based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This full-time role involves evening/night shifts from 6:30 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with the potential for every other weekend work and required call shifts. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position primarily supports neuro-related cases and requires strong neuro experience.
Job Details:
- Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
- Schedule: 1830-0500, Monday-Friday, 36-40 hours per week; 8-12 hour shifts; every other weekend; weekday/night call once every 7-10 days; full weekend call every 5-6 weeks.
- Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, and 2 years of travel experience (preferred). Valid license required; facility will not accept TS-C or grandfathered certifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: Strong neuro experience and previous travel experience.
- Additional Information: The position may involve floating to other units/departments including General, Orthopedics, and Cardiovascular Operating Room. Experience with electronic medical records system EPIC is necessary. Routine responsibilities include anticipating, planning for, and responding to the needs of patients, surgeons, and team members amidst maintaining confidentiality.
