Job Summary:
An RN position in the Step Down Unit located in Omaha, Nebraska. The role involves providing specialized care to adult patients with oncology and trauma diagnoses, including ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The assignment is scheduled to start on 08/03/2026.
Job Details:
- Location: Omaha, Nebraska

- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with shift times including 7:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m., 7:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m., and 7:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m.
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Required Qualifications: Valid driver's license, ACLS and BLS certifications, 2 years of recent acute care RN experience, Oncology and MedSurg experience preferred, experience with ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring, titrating drips (including insulin and Cardizem), and using EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) software within the last 6 months.
- Preferred Qualifications: Oncology experience and PCU experience
- Float: Yes, same level of care units
- Additional Information: Orientation includes 2 days; RTO requests must be made upfront for 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Candidates must have worked for a healthcare organization associated with the organization in any capacity.
- Certification Requirements: ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
- Patient Population: Adults with oncology and trauma diagnoses.
- Other Competencies: Ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000, ICP).
- Special Equipment: Lyko lifts in some rooms, additional lift equipment available.
- Support Staff: Nursing assistants, RN case managers, social workers, educators, dieticians.
- Responsibilities include hourly rounding, team collaboration, and providing patient-centered care.
- No minimum experience beyond the specified 2 years is required for this role.
- RTO (reasons to leave) must be specified upfront; additional RTO requests will not be approved during the assignment.
